The Marvel Rivals Avengers PvP mode has finally arrived with the April 30 update and it is really fun. This is the first of many events planned throughout 2026 and will continue until the release of the Avengers: Doomsday movie. If you are looking forward to playing as the world's strongest heroes or the God of Chaos, discover how to play the Marvel Rivals Avengers PvP mode here.

Is There a Role Queue in the Marvel Rivals Avengers PvP Mode?

Surprisingly, the developers have added a ‘Role Queue’ feature for the new Avengers PvP mode in Marvel Rivals. In the game, before starting a match in the Path to Doomsday: The Avengers mode, you will see a new option to choose your role before entering a match. Since the new Marvel Rivals Avengers PvP mode is a 1v6 battle, players have the freedom to choose which side they want to play on before the match.

There are three roles you can choose from: Heroes, Loki, and Flexible. When you select Heroes, you can only take on the roles of the World's Mightiest Heroes. The Loki option can only be selected in solo games. Similarly, if you are willing to play as both heroes and Loki, you can choose the Flexible option when queuing solo.

This is a great move to give players the opportunity to choose the role they want to play in this limited-time mode. Additionally, you can also choose between the Classic mode, which only includes the Avengers, or the All Heroes mode, which provides access to the full Marvel Rivals hero roster.

The new Avengers mode is a Domination game. There are no longer the best of three rounds, so either the Avengers or the Asgardian trickster will win by taking control of the mission area. Thus, every game in the Avengers PvP mode lasts only 7-10 minutes.

How to Win as Loki in the Marvel Rivals Avengers PvP Mode?

Now that you are familiar with the role queue and the different sub-modes in the Avengers PvP mode, let's discuss how to play and win as Loki in the new mode. To be honest, playing as Loki is a much better way than playing as the powerful Avengers. You enter the arena in the classic Loki costume from the Avengers (2012) movie and you will immediately notice that you have 3500 HP.

This is more than enough for a 1v6 battle against the world's strongest heroes. Moreover, you have an expanded set that includes new abilities and an ultimate ability for Loki. Loki's main fire option is to unleash energy bursts with his staff. However, the new abilities are the real source of fun.

The new Illusion Bombardment creates an illusion that performs a powerful AoE attack. This should be the ability you use to damage them when the Avengers surround you. The next Kneel ability allows you to mind control opponents for a short period.

This is a fantastic ability that causes opponents to switch sides and attack their own teams. Additionally, you can control their bodies with ‘Puppet Strings’ and harm other heroes. You don’t need to worry about your main body, as the AI will take care of it.

In addition to these new abilities, Loki also has his regular skills; for example, teleporting to an illusion and becoming invisible by creating an illusion. Finally, Loki's new ‘Chronos-Chaos Command’ ultimate ability allows you to summon the Avengers (bots) from an alternate reality to fight against the original Avengers. And as you can guess, you can control any of them.

Thus, playing as Loki has become easier than ever with a massive health pool and countless overpowered abilities in PvP mode. Don’t forget to spam your AoE attack when heroes corner you, and use Kneel Down at the right moment to turn your enemies into your soldiers for a short time.

If you are playing on a map with drop zones, control your opponent's body and lead them to their death, because why not? Finally, unleash Loki's new ultimate ability to overpower the heroes and take control of the mission area.

How to Win as Avengers in Marvel Rivals Avengers PvP Mode?

On the other hand, playing as Avengers is similar to your regular Marvel Rivals matches. The only difference is that the hero roster is now limited to six heroes: Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. So, you won't be able to choose Strategist heroes like Gambit in this mode.

The sets of all six heroes remain the same, and you continue with the old Marvel Rivals teamwork and abilities. Only one addition has been made to each hero. When you deal damage, a new ability starts to recharge. Once completed, you can unleash your new ability to summon Loki in his ultimate form to crush him. Other than that, you fight against a single opponent with a six-person team as usual.

Think of Loki as a final PvE boss, just like Dracula in the last Blood Hunt mode. Use your abilities wisely and focus on damaging the God of Chaos, as he has 3500 HP. Avoid Illusion Bombardment attacks, as the AoE attack can easily kill you if you are playing as a Duelist. Since there is no healer providing healing, you must rely on health packs on the map.

When Loki takes control of your mind, there’s nothing you can do; just trust your teammates and wait for them to attack or wait for the spell to wear off. You can also easily eliminate all the heroes he summons with his new ultimate ability. Thus, returning home victorious as the world's strongest hero becomes quite easy. Just play your role in your team well, and you can defeat Loki.

If you don’t enjoy playing as Avengers or find it challenging to play without a healer, choose the All Heroes mode. Now, you can play against Loki with your favorite hero from Marvel Rivals' extensive roster and win the game.

This is one of the most fun limited-time modes added to Marvel Rivals. Therefore, don’t forget to play as Loki or Avengers before you log out of the game. If you have played the new mode, share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
