How to Prepare for Blood Hunt Mode in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt mode contains a surprising amount of character and equipment progression. This means you need to fine-tune your gear and assigned abilities as you prepare for each match - just like you would in a looter-shooter RPG. All of these core systems are located in one place, and you can learn more about them.

Preparing Hero Equipment

There are six playable heroes in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt: Punisher, Squirrel Girl, Thor, Moon Knight, Jeff the Land Shark, and Blade. Each playable hero in this mode has four equipment slots. These are classified as Weapon, Armor, Accessory, and Special. Equipment is dropped by regular enemies and bosses in each match and comes in five different rarities. Here’s how each piece of equipment affects your character:

  • Weapon: Increases damage output
  • Armor: Increases health and damage resistance
  • Accessory: Provides bonus effects like Critical Rate and Block Rate
  • Special: Character-specific equipment that enhances the power of their abilities

Assigning Hero Skill Points

Once your equipment is placed, you can move to the Skills section, which has a skill tree specific to the Blood Hunt mode. You will earn Skill points by playing matches and leveling up. These points can be used to purchase three different types of Skills. The first section is General Skills, which enhance the hero's basic attributes, while the other two sections increase the damage of signature abilities.

For example, Blade has special Skill trees for Purging Bladedance and Silver Soulbreaker. Similarly, Punisher’s Skill trees enhance his main abilities, and this applies to all six playable characters.

Leveling Up Arcane Realm

Next to the Skills tab, there are two special menus for Arcana. These are more powerful bonuses that can increase your character’s health, damage, and critical rate. You will earn Arcana points at a much slower rate than Skill points. Additionally, these upgrades are divided into four different scrolls and are associated with various difficulty levels. Here’s an overview of each Arcana Realm scroll:

  • Conquest Scroll (Normal Difficulty): Increases total output
  • Immortality Scroll (Normal Difficulty): Increases health
  • Blessing Scroll (Clear Nightmare Difficulty 70): TBC
  • Midas Scroll (Clear Nightmare Difficulty 70): TBC

Since the Blood Hunt mode has just arrived in Marvel Rivals, we are still playing and trying to approach Nightmare difficulty. We will continue to update this section as we unlock full upgrades.

Breaking Down and Crafting Hero Equipment

The last section you need to prepare is found in the Forge menu in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt mode. Here, you can break down the equipment you have collected and turn them into Uru Shards. These Shards can be used to craft new items for your hero and the equipment slot of your choice. For example, you can break down Blade's sword to craft a more powerful Ankh for Moon Knight.

The quality of the item may be higher as your character reaches certain level thresholds. If Jeff the Land Shark is at level 32, you will have a higher chance of obtaining Epic or Legendary equipment. Remember that this system is based on RNG, and you can always check the luck rates by clicking on the information icon.

How to Unlock and Defeat the Secret Kingpin Boss in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt mode features four unique bosses, including a secret Kingpin boss, which can be challenging to unlock. Your first boss encounter is likely to be Capwolf, and you will unlock the other three by increasing your difficulty level.

Difficulty Levels and Unlocking Kingpin

Before entering a Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt match, you can choose one of three difficulty levels. However, there is also a secret "Nightmare" difficulty that unlocks after defeating the other three. Here’s a look at each option and the bosses you may encounter:

  • Normal Difficulty: Capwolf
  • Hard Difficulty: Capwolf, Ratatoskr
  • Extreme Difficulty: Capwolf, Ratatoskr, Dracula, Kingpin (If the tasks are completed)
  • Nightmare Difficulty: Capwolf, Ratatoskr, Dracula, Kingpin

As you can see, the Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt PvE mode becomes a kind of gauntlet when you unlock Extreme difficulty. However, while the first three bosses appear on their own, Kingpin will only appear if you follow specific instructions. Here’s how you can unlock Kingpin in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt:

StageTaskTime Limit
Stage 4 (Bridge)Destroy the dome-shaped barrier at the end of the bridge90 seconds
Stage 7 (Ruins)Find and destroy the red flower-like Bloodclot BudsNo Time Limit
Stage 12 (Entrance of Dracula's Castle)Stop the magic circle by destroying the surrounding Blood Crystals.120 seconds

How to Defeat Kingpin in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt

Recently appearing for the first time in Marvel Rivals on the Lower Manhattan map, Kingpin is the final boss of the Blood Hunt mode. Indeed, this boss is quite resilient and requires continuous damage to be defeated. He doesn’t have a very wide move set, but you should be careful of the Cane strike; this can immobilize you for a short time. Additionally, there is an AoE explosive leap that can deal devastating damage.

Stay at a distance and fire into the hitbox. There are no cheats related to the boss fight, so this is the only way to defeat Kingpin in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt.

Bosses and Enemy Types in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt Mode

As mentioned earlier, the Blood Hunt mode includes four different bosses, but the enemy list is considerably longer. If you want to learn about the enemies you will encounter, here is a list of all bosses and enemy types in the Marvel Rivals PvE mode:

Boses

  • Capwolf
  • Ratatoskr
  • Dracula
  • Kingpin

Enemy Types

  • Vampires
  • Exploding Vampires
  • Grunt (Resilient Vampires)
  • Crawling Vampires
  • Human Bat

We will continue to update the list of enemy types with other enemies. So don’t forget to come back soon.
