Mega Evolving Mewtwo in Pokémon GO
Players can Mega Evolve Mewtwo in Pokémon GO into one of two forms: Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y. To Mega Evolve Mewtwo, you need Mega Mewtwo X or Y Evolution energy depending on the desired Mega Form. Once you have enough energy, you can select your Mewtwo and Mega Evolve it.
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y are stronger than other Mega Evolutions and require significantly more Mega Energy for Mega Evolution. Both Pokémon will be featured in Mega Mewtwo Super Mega Raids that will take place during Pokémon GO Fest 2026 Global or in-person events.
Additionally, every Mega Mewtwo caught during the Pokémon GO event will have at least one Mega Level open and can be Mega Evolved without any initial energy cost.
